Design and Modification of Water-quenching System for Tubing & Casing Heat Treatment Line

Elaborated here is the newly-built water-quenching system located at Baoshan Iron & Steel Co.,Ltd. With employment of the advanced quenching process of “external showering + pipe rotating + internal spraying” as used both at home and abroad,the said quenching system is designed based on number of technological innovations to the original similar system. The working principle,quenching process and structural characteristics of the system are analyzed to demonstrate that the modified-type water-quenching system is much better than the original type in terms of mechanical structure,quenching effectiveness and mechanical properties of the pipe. The operation practice of the newly-designed system shows that it is capable of enhancing the added-values of the products.
