    Discussion on Manufacturing Process of CPE Mill for Stainless Steel Tube and Titanium Alloy Tube

    • A CPE mill equipped with 3-roll piercer can not only produce in small batchs and various varieties,but also produce stainless steel tubes and titanium alloy tubes.The process arrangement for CPE mill as well as the details for a good production of stainless steel tubes and titanium alloy tubes are compared,analyzed and discussed.The practice leads to the following conclusions.Comparing to a 2-roll piercer,a 3-roll piercer has better deformation,less proboability of un-penetrated shells and less cuts on shells.CPE mill has certian advantages in the production of stainless steel tubes and titanium alloy tubes.The difficulties in producing stainless steel tubes and titanium alloy tubes with CPE mill are some technical problems like heating and lubricating etc..The current mandrel pipe mill is capable of producing stainless steel tubes and titanium alloy tubes,but it is difficult to use large deformation amount in the sizing (reducing) procedure,and also the abrasion of the tools are quite serious.
