    Development of Horizontal-extrusion Process and Equipment for Steel Pipe

    • Over the recent years, the steel tube extrusion manufacturing technology has been further developed and adapted to meet the need for hi-end seamless steel tubular products as used in domestic nuclear power industry, petroleum industry and petrochemical industry.In 2009, one vertical extrusion plant and two horizontal extrusion plants with the technological level ahead of the world were built up and put into operation.Elaborated in the paper are the development progresses of manufacturing technologies and equipment of the horizontal extrusion mills as achieved both at home and abroad.Also described are the key technological equipment units of the said mill, including those for stock preparation, pipe extrusion, and immediate quenching process, etc.
