    Discussion on Similarity and Difference in NDT Requirements Between Three Steel Linepipe Standards(SAW Parts)

    • Analyzed and compared are the NDT items between the three commonly-used steel linepipe standards namely,API Spec.5L-2000,GB/T9711.1-1997and GB/T9711.2-1999(SAW parts)in a bid to guide production,inspection and purchase of steel tubular products.The major difference between the first two standards lies in the inspections for the tube end residual magnetism,while the major difference between GB/T9711.2and the said two standards is that for GB/T9711.2the inspection requirements for lamination are more stringent and the requirements concerning UT and radiation detections are more detailed and more specific.
