INVESTIGATION CONCERNING ACCURACY OF STEEL TUBES PRODUCED BY Φ250mm MANDREL PIPE MILL

Investigated are the main elements responsible for the accuracy of steel tubes rolled by the Φ250mm retained mandrel mill plant located at the facility of Tianjin Steel Tube Co. It is concluded in the paper that to improve the O.D.tolerance of the steel tube, it is necessary to design and select properly the sizing mill's pass geometry in line with rolling conditions and, category and size range of tubes, etc.
