DISCUSSION ON PROJECTS OF CONSTRUCTION OF LARGE-SIZED SUBMERGED ARC STRAIGHT WELD PIPEMILLS

Based on market analysis of the large-sized submerged arc straight weld pipes,it is recommended that when initiating any project of large-sized submerged arc straight weld pipemill,a domestically suitable and practical product mix be first of all developed.Advantages and disadvantages of such projects with equipment imported from abroad or partially imported from abroad and partially locally supplied are analyzed in terms of equipment investment and technological engineering.A caution is given to steel tube makers involved that practical concepts should be developed for such projects depending on their own capacities.
