Abstract
To solve the technical problems in low carbon alloy steel tube butt welding and improve the performance of the joint,a study on butt welding technology for low carbon alloy steel tube is carried out by using a self-developed welding machine, using FeNiCrSiB as the middle layer and applying the transient liquid phase bonding (TLP)technique. The study shows that by adjusting the parameters such as welding temperature, welding pressure and holding time etc.,a TLP butt joint can be well formed in one time with no brittle phase generated in the weld structure and no residual marks in the middle layer,so the weld structure is as same as that of the base metal with no obvious boundary. The joint strength and the plasticity of the low carbon alloy steel pipe welded by TLP technique can both meet the requirements for the tube to tube joint.
