Abstract
Briefed in the paper is the process of the experiment on manufacturing process of the Φ 38 mm × 11 mm×9 000 mm seamless steel tube to be used by the blast furnace located at Wugang iron melting facility. According to relevant product requirements, the cold-drawing passes are optimized, and following the law of wall thickness variation of the cold-formed steel tube, the cold-deformation of the heavy-wall tube is mainly studied, based on the result of which, the seamless steel tube meeting the need for the blast furnace operation is engineered. Relevant rolling operation shows that the rolling process is feasible. It is pointed out that the rolling passes to determine the wall thickness and wall thickness variation during the void drawing passes are the critical factors for manufacturing of the tube.
