Analysis of Technical Criteria for Tubing ＆ Casing Production Inspections in Saudi Arabia from the Perspective of Saudi Aramco Standard

The total export volume of OCTG of the country was up to 1.461 million tons in 2007, which leads to the conclusion that the overseas market has become one of the most important marketplaces for domestic OCTG products. Being the largest oil producer, and thus one of the greatest OCTG consumers in the world, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has the OCTG for its oil industry mainly from abroad. Based on the Saudi Aramco product standard for tubing and casing, the technical criteria for tubing & casing production inspections as required by the market of Saudi Arabia are discussed, and accordingly, necessary improvements on the processing technology for domestic tubing and casing sector are proposed.
