IMPROVEMENT OF SURFACE CHEMICAL-TREATMENT PROCESS FOR COLD-DRAWN TUBE BLANK

Briefed in the paper are the improvement conducted by Moskovsk Steel Tube Works on surface treatment process for tube blanks including such operation steps as copper-coating, phrosphurization, neutralization and soaping. Also described here is the lubrication process concerning the use of pitch-soap lubricant and spraying new type mineral oil into the tube being drawn through the mandrel nozzle. The above mentioned improved processes are advantageous in improving pipe quality and reducing waste discharge.
