Latest Development of Drill Pipe Technology in Baosteel

The paper deals with the latest development of the drill pipe technology in Baosteel. Elaborated are the research achievements concerning failure analysis and FE analysis of the drill pipe upset transitional section from the theoretic research point of view. Also described is the continual improvement of the product quality, involving improvements on the critical technical indexes of the drill pipe,including cleanness and toughness of the material,Miu length of the internally-upset transitional section and the straightness,etc. Moreover,new product development is introduced, covering the development and application of some new products like the BGDS high torque drill pipe,the NC52 non-standard drill pipe and the sour service drill pipe.
