CAUSES AND ELIMINATING MEASURES OF OUTSIDE SCABS DURING DIAMETER REDUCTION OF STEEL PIPES

The causes of outside scabs during diameter reduction of steel pipes are analyzed and a number of measures taken to eliminate the defect is described.Production practice of years shows that the measures are quite effective on improving the machining precision of diameter reducing passes,avoiding the non-uniform wear of roll passes and eliminating outside scabs during diameter reduction of steel pipes.
