    Anti-bending Mechanics ofa“Bamboo Structure”and its Application

    • Analyzed in the essay are the causes for the low anti-bending strength at the stress point of an engineering tube.And by introducing the mechanics of materials,the mechanical explanation of how does the“bamboo structure”reinforce the anti-bending ability of a tube is explicated.The analysis indicates that by installing a“bamboo structure”in the section of a hollow tube to prevent the stress point from caving in towards the inside of the tube,which may result in early bending and fracture,the anti-bending ability of the tube will be significantly improved.Furthermore,the“bamboo structure”technique can lead to the reduction of the tube wall thickness to 1/3~1/2 of the original one,saving more than 50%of the steel,without compromising the original tube strength.
