Progress and Development Orientation of Technological Equipment Configuration for Hot-rolled Seamless Steel Tube Manufacturing

Up to now among the total domestic seamless steel tube production capacity, the total capacity of the hi-productivity, hi-performance and technologically advanced tube mills, mainly the continuous-rolling mills accounts for reach 53%, a sign of the significant achievement in optimization of the technology and equipment configuration for hot-rolled seamless steel tube manufacturing and a precondition for increasing the proportion of home-made sophisticated seamless tubulars with high added values. It is regarded that towards further systematically optimizing domestic hot-rolled seamless steel tube mix and adapting to the global competition in the field, it is necessary for the top six domestic seamless tube makers to sharpen their competitive edges, restructure their facilities for better performance and carry out consolidation among themselves.
