    Characteristics of Steel Pipe Treated with Induction Quenching & Tempering Process

    • Described in the paper is the medium-frequency induction quenching & tempering line for steel pipe treatment. Steel pipes treated with the induction process and those treated with conventional quenching & tempering process are compared in terms of mechanical property,surface quality and orperation performance. The result shows that compared with the latter,the former has 15.1%~17.9% higher yield strength,and 11.5%~22.2% higher elongation,and high strength and toughness,smaller grain size,better surface quality,more satisfactory hardness evenness and much better straightness,which leads to such a conclusion that the above mentioned steel pipe induction quenching & tempering process is worth spreading up.
