The co-authors analyse shortcomings associated with the conventional eddy flaw detection of boiler steel pipes, namely, erroneous flaw signalling and flaw-missing and describe the application of impedance planar dislay and auto segmental zone alarming techniques to eddy detection process.Also introduced in the paper are the process elements and operational effectiveness of the intellectualized eddy detector.
