Analysis of Causes for HSM-2 Premium Connection Coupling Side Rotation Relative to Factory Side

Based on the fact as found in a foreign oil field that when making up the coupling in the field, the premium connection factory side is rotating relatively to the coupling, causes for the HSM-2 premium connection coupling's rotation relative to the factory side is investigated via workshop screw-up testing and the full-scale screw-up test as made in the laboratory.The test result reveals that only in case that the field side torque is higher than that of the factory side, should the factory side coupling rotate relatively.Therefore it is suggested that before putting the pipe down to the well, the pressure sensor of the torque system be accurately calibrated, and the siteused torque gauge be periodically checked.
