    Measures to Improve Impact Property of Heavy - wall Boiler Steel Pipe

    • Analyzed in the paper are the elements responsible for the low impact property of the heavy-wall boiler pipe. Such elements which negatively influence the impact property of the said pipe include the straightening temperature, relevant process control measures and the final-rolling temperature, etc. The macrostructure of the pipe with qualified impact property is compared with that of the pipe with unqualified impact property. The result of the study shows that the impact property of the heavy-wall boiler pipe will be significantly increased by means of such measures as avoiding straightening within the 350 ℃ brittle temperature zone, adopting rather small screwdown amount, reducing the final rolling temperature, and properly controlling of forming of Widmannstatten structure,etc.
