MANUFACTURING PROCESS AND QUALITY CRITERIA FOR LONG-DISTANCE TRANSPORT-PURPOSE LINE PIPES

Described in the paper are the manufacturing processes and quality criteria employed abroad for ERW straight weld-pipes and SAW spiral-weld pipes used for long-distance transport purpose pipelines. The co-authors hold that to improve the product quality of home-made long-distance transport-purpose line pipes, it is necessary to develop auto-inspection-control techniques and to employ reliable quality control measures for imported weld-pipe mills with similar processes.
