On-line Measurement and Calibration of Roll Pass of 3-roll Mandrel Pipe Mill

The camera-based on-line roll groove measurement/analysis system,CaliView is introduced to realize the on-line measurement of the roll stand pass of the mandrel pipe mill so as to improve the pass control precision,and the central-line calibration efficiency. And this method is compared and analyzed with other central-line measurement methods as used before. It is regarded via the analysis that the said CaliView system is capable of on-line measurement and calibration of the roll stand pass with high precision(precision class:0.01 mm). The measurement method features fast and convenient operation,and direct data analysis and display,being worth using as a new method for measuring and calibrating the pass central line of the mandrel pipe mill with higher frequency and precision.
