Importance Should be Attached to Domestic Development of Tubular Goods Made of Ferrite Stainl ess Steel and Ferrite/Austenite Dual-phase Stainless Steel

As two new categories of stainless steel tubular products the low-chromi um ferrite stainless steel and the low-nickel ferrite/austenite dual-phase stainless steel tubes have been developed rapidly in the world,since 1980.The former is very suitable for applications under low-corrosion condition s like auto exhaust pipe due to its cost effectiveness,while the latter is the best for applications under chlorion or H₂S-caused stress corrosion conditions due to its combined properties of hi-strength and hi-corrosion resistance.Research on the said two stainless steel (welded) tubes and their potential market places are described.In addition,it is proposed that importance should be attached to development of the said two products in the country.
