    Finite Element Analysis(FEA) of Thermal Well-service Casing Premium Connections

    • Based on the Thermal Well Casing Connection Evaluation Protocol,the finite element analyses(FEA) of two different types of premium connections are conducted. The analysis result reveals that during the thermal well testing,the sealing contact pressure and sealing length of the premium connection with tooth flank interference and arc-to-cone sealing surface are just slightly affected by the temperature change and the pressure load,thus satisfactory sealing ability is ensured. And therefore this premium connection is more suitable for the service conditions of the steam-assisted gravity drainage(SAGD) well.
