    • The authors explain why the hi-temperature oxidation treatment process for piercing plug has to consist of two necessary stages, i. e.pre-oxidation and oxidation during piercing,analyze the optimum hi-temperature oxidation atmosphere, and at last predict the issues which need further research in this field.
