AN ELEMENTARY ANALYSIS OF ROLLING STATE OF MANDREL PIPE MILL

The writer gives readers an elementary analysis about the rolling processes of several types of mandrel pipe mills, pointing out that the rolling process of the retained-mandrel mill is in fact a special case of the floating-mandrel mill. By introducing the concepts of K Stand moving forward and Zero Stand,the said two types of mandrel mill can be regarded as one. In addition, some production technical issues arediscussed in the paper, including setting of the mill speed pattern, fine adjustment and so forth.
