    Development of X80 Ф1 219 mm × 33 mm Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded Pipe for Main Pipeline Service

    • Elaborated in the article are the activities for development of the X80 Ф1 219 mm×33 mm longitudinal su- bmerged arc welded(LSAW)pipe for main pipeline service.Studied are the chemical composition and the microstructure of the steel plate as suitable for manufacturing the said welded pipe.As a result,the difficult problem of low shearing area of the 33 mm extra heavy-wall LSAW pipe is solved.And a kind of welded joint with good mechanical performance is obtained by means of optimizing welding consumable matching,and innovating a correspondingly fast welding method featuring small-angle bevel and lower heat input.The X80 Ф1 219 mm×33 mm LSAW pipe for main pipeline service as developed has been up to relevant international advanced level,and ready for mass production and application.
