INVESTIGATION ON FORMATION OF INTERNAL CRACK AND LAMINATION OF HEAVY WALLED PIERCED SHELL

Based on the investigation on the deformation characteristics and stresses occurring during piercing of the heavy walled shell,it is concluded that the tremendous tangential subsidary stress due to the dual-drum type deformation and the repeated bending deformation and various other technological factors are responsible for the development of the said internal cracks and laminations.Also presented in the article are measures to prevent or reduce the defective cracks and laminations.
