    Study of Localization for Gr8 Seamless Steel Pipes Used under Ultra-low Temperature

    • Referring to the development status at home and abroad and the performance characteristics of the seamless steel pipes used under ultra-low temperature, a production process for the seamless steel pipes with Gr8 grade used under ultra-low temperature is studied, designed and developed from many aspects such as composition design, pipe rolling and heat treatment.The research result shows that the newly developed seamless steel pipes with Gr8 grade completely meet the related ASTM/ASME specifications and the special requirements of users in all technical characteristics such as the metallurgical quality, chemical composition, mechanical properties and acid corrosion resistance.The low temperature(-196℃)impact value of the product is much higher than the minimum value specified by specifications, which can fully meet the requirements for any index of the pipelines used in the liquefied natural gas industry and cryogenic equipment manufacturing industry.
