    Development of TMCP and Envisaged Application to Steel Tube Rolling

    • With the conventional TMCP(thermo-mechanical control process),improvement of the steel performance is restrained due to the limited cooling capacity.To further strengthen the steel performance,a new-generation TMCP or NG-TMCP with ultra-fast cooling process as the core technique is proposed to take the place of the conventional TMCP.Thanks to the said new TMCP,the steel mechanism of multi-strengthening of grain refining,precipitation and phase-transformation is improved,and thus the potential of the steel is further tapped.Described in the article are the progresses of applications of the NG-TMCP to steel hot-rolling operations for such products as strip,medium plate,wire rod and H-beam etc.Also proposed is the tentative plan for application of the technology to the tube-rolling process.
