Study Concerning Carbon Pickup of Steel for Tube-rolling

Carbon content is closely related with quality of the seamless steel tube. Overall analysis and research of the entire production course from steel-making to blooming to pipe-rolling were performed, based on which it was identified that the bloom carbon pickup was mainly caused by carbon pickup in the ingot head due to the protection slag, and thus effective solution was developed so as to ensure production of quality seamless steel tubes.
