    Understanding of Intermediate Frequency Hot Expanding Process for Seamless Steel Tube

    • Introduced in the paper is the intermediate frequency(IF)hot expanding process and its characteristics.Elaborated is the quality control of the IF hot expanding process.By selecting flawless billets, requalifying mother tubes, specifying strict process requirements and adopting thorough testing methods, it is possible to guarantee the dimension accuracy, the overall quality and the reliability of the IF hot-expanded steel tubes.The analysis indicates that the risk of producing or spreading defects during the hot expanding process can be efficiently lowered by experiencing a load condition of bidirectional-compression-unidirectional-tension during the IF hot expanding process, and by maintaining a relatively low heating temperature and a relatively low pushing speed using an intelligent temperature control system during the hot expanding process.It is necessary to reacquaint the heating mode, the heating temperature, the load condition and the product quality of the IF hot expanding process from a developmental perspective.
