Abstract
The co-authors analyze the loading state and the rolling loads under three different process conditions of Φ100mm piercer in piercing stainless steel heavy shells. Experiment on onetime piercing of the Φ120mm × 7mm stainless steel shell with the Φ110mm mother tube was conducted. The experiment result has showed that the one-time piercing process is logic and the yield is higher than that of the twice-piercing process, and the rolling load is similar to that during piercing Φ116mm × 16mm stainless steel shell. As a result, the pierced shell size range is expanded.
