EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON THE PRODUCTION OF SEAMLESS STEEL TUBES WITH CC BILLETS ON A 76mm ROLLING MILL

The applications of CC billets for seamless tubes on a 76mm rolling mill can reduce productioncost.Quality inspection,simulated thermal plastic tests made on HCC round billets,round billetsrolled from arc CC squares or from 325kg ingots,as well as tube rolling experiments show that itbecomes feasible to roll tubes directly from CC round billets and also show that the yield can beincreased by about 6%,if tube blanks rolled from CC square billets instead of from ingots areused in tube rolling.
