Computerized 3-D Design Method for Guide Shoe of Cone Type Rotary Reeling Mill

Abstract
Based on the steel tube rotary-rolling theory as developed over the recent years,optimum deign of the guide shoe of the cone type reeling mill is conducted by means of simulation of the reeler's rotary-rolling space with the Solidworks computer application program.Elaborated here in the paper are the main aspects of the design method,involving the characteristics of the said application program,determination of the design principle and procedure,the basic dimensions and material,etc.of the guide shoe with the software,and a comparison of the 3-D design with the conventional design method.Thanks to the 3-D design and the optimization,the streamline of the guide shoe as designed is in conformity with the principle of metal flow in the reeling process,being satisfactory to the requirement for the closed groove for reeling,so as to ensure the quality of tubes as reeled.
