    Application of Radio Frequency Identification Technology to Steel Pipe Manufacture

    • Described in the paper is the method for identifying the steel pipe number. Also analyzed is the application of the RFID technology to the steel pipe manufacturing process flow. It is regarded via the analysis that using the RFID technique is capable of automatically reading the pipe number so as to fix the problems like MES-caused input error,and delay,etc. Featuring long-distance quick identification of the pipe tag,the RFID system as used in the steel pipe manufacturing process flow can maximize the production efficiency and accuracy. Having been applied for nearly five years,though the RFID technology once stayed with such shortcomings as repeatedly issuing card and data-reading error,but it has been so far very effective owing to timely technological and process adjustments.
