Design and Development of Centering Device with Three Skew Holding Rolls

Elaborated here in the paper is a new type three-roll centering device applicable to the cross-rolling pipe mill.There is an intersection between the axis of the centering device and the rolling center line so as to reduce or even eliminate the speed difference between the surfaces of the rolling tool and the work piece and that of the holding-rolls, and thus get the pipe surface quality improved, and the service life of the holding-rolls prolonged.To reliably prevent loosing of the holding-rolls, a left-right turning, combined anti-loosening bolt connection is adopted to ensure firm and constant connection, which can prevent the inclination angle of the holding-roll axis from changing under impact vibration.
