DEVELOPMENT OF CAST STEEL-MADE ROLL OF HI-FREQUENCY WELDED PIPE MILL

The newly developed roll for hi-frequency welded pipe mill is made of a hi-C & Cr contented cast steel,ZGCr14MoVW treated with the pre-treatment process of hi-temperature solution isothermal transformation which produces no problems of network structure of carbide and hard machining caused by traditional casting process of hi-C & Cr contented steel.Service life of roll made of the said steel is five times longer than that of the forged roll of GCr15 steel with muh high reconditioning frequency. The paper covers such major aspects of the newly developed roll as material chemical composition,casting process as well as heat treatment technology.
