The article involves the development of the small-sized new type plug of the 50mm piercer, covering such aspects of the new type plug as material selection,design principle of plug profile and bore structure,manufacturing process and cooling conditions during heat-treatment.Relevant operational practice has proven that the newly developed plug has longer service life and is very effective.
