Practical Experience of Shipment of Large-sized Low Steel Grade Weld Pipes for Sea Transportation

The Φ1 016 mm×15.9 mm X52 double-sided spiral SAW pipes for an offshore pipe line project are shipped by sea to the transfer station where they are piled with three layers.A random check for the stored pipes shows thatone third thereof have their ovality beyond the standard requirement.The causes for this problem are found outbymeans of analyzing relevant raw production data and data from the random inspectionmade at the storage site，and consulting related documents.Accordingly，specific countermeasures are proposed.
