Cause Analysis of and Preventative Actions Against Thread Galling of Hollow Sucker Rod

Described here in the paper are the thread type, processing technology and basic application conditions of the hollow sucker rod.Relevant analyses of chemical composition and properties of the thread-galling rod head and coupling are conducted.And the related field-used equipment and operation process are followed up and checked.As a result, it is identified that thread galling of the hollow sucker rod is not only related to the manufacture quality, but also to the maloperation in the field.Accordingly, preventative actions against the said galling failure are determined, while proposal for further completing prevailing applicable standard is put forward.
