DETERMINATION OF FLATTENING RATE OF CROSS-ROLL PIPE STRAIGHTENER

Based on analysis of the elastic limit flattening pressure and the flattening rate, calculation of various curvature measures involved in the steel tube flattening/straightening process is made with the elastic-plastic bending theory.A method for determining flattening rate to ensure straightening quality is proposed, which provides a basis for proper operation of the straightener.
