    R & D of A Specially-drift-tested SSC-resistant and Collapse-resistant Casing

    • Analyzed in the article are the major factors affecting SSC resistance and collapse resistance of the casing. It is identified that the SSC resistance is mainly subjected to the influences by such factors as microstructure, chemical composition,hardness and strength,and inclusions,etc.,while collapse resistance is mainly subjected to influences by geometric dimensions and mechanical properties of the pipe. Elaborated here in the essay are the R & D activities and controlling of major manufacturing process steps of a specially-drift-tested SSC resistant and collapse resistant casing. Relevant test results show that the newly-developed casing features low inclusion quantity,stable mechanical properties, and high dimensional accuracy, being satisfactory to the comprehensive performance requirements concerning special drift test,and SSC resistance and collapse resistance.
