Simulated Comparison of Thickness Accuracies of Large-and-middle-sized Multi-roll Mandrel Mills

Analyzed in the paper are the thickness accuracies of the shells after the multi-roll（2-roll，3-roll，4-roll）rolling processes applied in Φ340 mm mandrel mills using ABAQUS FEA software.Comparing the simulated result and actual result of the peak rolling force of each stand，it is conclued that，when making mild steel and high alloy steel tubes，the 4-roll rolling process can get better thickness homogeneity in comparison with 2-roll and 3-roll processes.
