APPROCH TO SHORTENING SHELL WAITING TIME

During the operation course of the plug pipe mill line, shell waiting might occur due to the fact that the working cycles of the piercer and the plug mill are not properly matched to each other.Discussed in the paper are the negative inflence by the said waiting time on plug service life, tube surface quality and the availability of the pipe mills and relevant technical measures to shorten the shell waiting time.
