THE PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT CONFIGURATION OF 177mm ACCU-ROLL PLANT

The 177mm Aecu-Roll mill is due to be put into production in Chengdu Seamless Steel Tube Plant in the first half of 1992. The new modern plant attracts great attention from the tube manufacturer cycles both at home and abroad. The three main mills of the plant, namely, piercing mill, tube-rolling mill and sizing mill, are jointly designed and manufactured by Huamei Steel Tube Engineering Corp. of China and ITAM Inc. of America. The mills have a lot of unique features in terms of process and equipment configuration which are briefed in this paper.
