Analysis of Advantages of FFX Forming Technology

Over the past five decades, development of the weld pipe FFX forming technology has experienced 3 stages, i.e., the conventional forming process, the cage roll forming process and the FFX forming process.Based on the actual application result of Huabei Oil Steel Pipe Co., Yangzhou Branch of Bohai Petroleum Equipment Manufacture Corp., the advantages of the FFX forming process is analyzed, focusing on such aspects as rough forming roll dual purpose use and the reasonable structure, high automation level of the control system, easy pipe type change and full-process supervision of the equipment operation as well as the operation cost-effectiveness.
