Briefed in the paper are the current statuses of the constructions of the linepipes for pure hydrogen and hydrogen mixed gas transmission at home and abroad,the current development situation of the technical specifications for hydrogen transport pipelines as well as storage,transport,pipeline design,testing and evaluation of pro-hydrogen materials for domestic and foreign hydrogen systems. Accordingly it is regarded that along with the increases of the strength of the material,the content of the chemical elements that easily form segregation,the size and quantity of the inclusions,and the pressure and purity of hydrogen,etc.,the sensitivity of hydrogen embrittlement increases;and the weak parts such as the weld joint of the welded pipe also increases the sensitivity of hydrogen embrittlement of the pipeline. Furthermore it is recommended that the selection of the materials for the hydrogen transmission pipeline should focus on factors concerning the steel goods,including the cleanness,the chemical composition design,controls of the non-metallic inclusion morphology,the microstructure segregation and the banded microstructure,and the coating method,etc.

Described here in the paper is the development history of the types of and the manufacturing equipment for the domestic ultra large-sized hot-rolled seamless steel tube. Also analyzed are the characteristics of the manufacturing process of the said tube. It is regarded that although the extrusion mill is capable of producing the carbon steel tube, the alloy steel tube, the stainless steel tube, the hi-temperature alloy steel tube and the corrosion-resistant alloy steel tubes, the production costs are rather high;the 2-roll rotary rolling mill is capable of producing the carbon steel tube, and the alloy steel tube with high productivity and high product accuracy, however certain difficulties stay with such mill in case of rolling tubes of hi-alloy steel, stainless steel, hi-temperature alloy steel and corrosion-resistant alloy steel;and compared with the rotary rolling mill, the pilger mill is suitable for a rather wider steel tube type range, and features bigger rolling deformation, but the product accuracy is rather low. Accordingly, the billet-supply solutions for different rolling mills to make the ultra large-sized hot-rolled seamless steel tube is proposed.

Described here in the paper is the operation situation of the domestic steel tube industry since 2022, involving such aspects as follows. The steel tube output and the performance consumption volume have grown with different magnitudes;the price has shown a descending tread, and while the export volume has been increased, the import volume has been significantly decreased. Also analyzed here is the reality as the industry is facing, i.e., the production capacity is exceeded, where as the new production capacity is continuously increased. It is pointed out that the present major task for the domestic steel tube industry covers such aspects as insisting on innovation development, and adjusting the structure, positively speeding up the reconstruction the industrial chain, the intelligent manufacturing, green and low-carbon transformation and expanding the export business.

Owing to the continuous development over the past 40 years,the domestic OCTG industry has made tremendous progress in terms of production capacity construction,product type R & D,and upgrade of both product quality and manufacture ability,etc. Moreover the product localization rate has been close to 100%,and some of the product types as developed have filled up the international blank. The development history of the domestic OCTG localization is roughly reviewed here in the essay,and the present development situation of the domestic OCTG industry is described. Finally relevant suggestions for the purpose of high quality development of the industry are proposed,involving such aspects as product upgrade,standard system construction,customer-end solution,manufacture ability enhancement, low-carbon development and the industrial chain cooperation etc.

Thanks to the Strategy of Double Carbon (carbon dioxide emission peak and neutrality) the development of new energy and related fields has brought the new application prospect of steel pipes,and put forward new requirements for their functions and performances. Focusing on the CO2 transmission pipe as used in the technology fields of carbon ca- pture,utilization and storage for safety,the hydrogen gas transmission pipe as used in the hydrogen energy field,and the injection production pipe as used for salt cavern compressed air energy storage in the energy storage field,here in the article,the present application status and the research progress of the new energy service steel pipes is summarized,and the demands for the pipes in various fields are analyzed. Furthermore,presented here,under the Double Carbon Strategy background,are relevant thoughts and suggestions about the essential theoretical research,the critical technology development,and the standard system construction of the new energy service steel pipes.
